Paneer-banana smoothie — a protein-rich shake fussy eaters drink (1–2 years)

Protein and good fat in a thick, mild smoothie — soft paneer blended with banana and milk, fussy-eater-friendly building blocks for gain.

Why am I making this?

Healthy gain is built on protein and good fat as much as calories, and fresh paneer is rich in both. The classical texts hold milk and its wholesome preparations — dugdha (दुग्ध, milk) and the soft fresh cheeses made from it — to be deeply nourishing and strengthening for the body. Blended with sweet banana and more milk, paneer becomes a thick, mild smoothie that hides nothing and pleases fussy palates. Offered as a snack or mid-morning, it delivers concentrated, building nourishment in an easy, creamy form.

Ancient text

Milk and its wholesome fresh preparations are deeply nourishing and strengthening for the body.

The classical texts hold dugdha (milk) and the soft, fresh preparations made from it to be deeply nourishing and strengthening for the body. A paneer-banana smoothie reflects that valuing of milk and fresh paneer, with sweet fruit, as building nourishment.

Modern research

Paneer is rich in protein, fat and calcium; blended with banana and whole milk it makes a protein- and energy-dense drink supporting lean growth and healthy weight gain in toddlers.

How to make it

Soft paneer blended with ripe banana and milk makes a thick, mild smoothie that's quietly packed with protein and good fat — some of the best building blocks for healthy gain. Creamy and gently sweet, it slips paneer into a form even fussy toddlers enjoy.

What you'll need

  • 2 tbsp soft fresh paneer, crumbled
  • 1 small ripe banana
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • A pinch of cardamom

How to make it

  1. Blend the soft paneer, banana and milk until completely smooth and creamy.
  2. Add a pinch of cardamom and loosen with a little milk if needed.
  3. Serve fresh as a snack or mid-morning.

Use soft, fresh paneer and blend very smooth so there's no graininess.

What every mother asks

My child refuses paneer — will she drink this?
Blended smooth with sweet banana, the paneer disappears into a creamy shake most children accept.
Will it help her gain?
Paneer's protein and fat plus milk genuinely support gain when offered consistently — no food guarantees it, and your doctor's checks matter most.
Fresh or packaged paneer?
Soft, fresh paneer blends smoothest; make sure it's fresh and well-stored.

A few honest notes

  • Use soft, fresh paneer and blend very smooth; ensure dairy is tolerated; serve fresh with supervision.
  • Use whole cow's milk from one year; no added sugar needed.
  • Keep it between meals so it adds to, not replaces, solids.
  • If your child isn't gaining weight despite eating, consult your paediatrician — we walk beside the doctor's care, never in its place.

Storage & make-ahead

Best fresh — paneer and banana are best blended just before serving. Make to order; if needed, refrigerate briefly and use within an hour, stirring well. Keep paneer fresh and cold until use.
