Til & jaggery soft pancakes — a sweet, calcium-rich sesame breakfast (1–2 years)
Soft little pancakes rich with toasted sesame and a touch of jaggery — a sweet breakfast that scatters plant calcium across the plate.
Why am I making this?
Sesame (tila) is one of the richest plant sources of calcium and jaggery (guda) brings a little iron and a natural sweetness children love (ruchi), bound into soft breakfast pancakes; toasting and grinding the sesame is the chef's step so the calcium is actually absorbed rather than passing through whole. Sesame, jaggery and wheat are classical.
Ancient text

Modern research

- Modest jaggery.
- Keep pancakes soft.
Storage & make-ahead
Batter keeps a few hours chilled; cook pancakes fresh.
