Date & raisin soft porridge — a naturally sweet, iron-gentle first breakfast (9–12 months)

A naturally sweet porridge blushed with soaked dates and raisins — a gentle first breakfast that quietly tops up iron, no sugar needed.

Why am I making this?

Dates (kharjura) and raisins (draksha) are gentle natural sources of iron and sweetness, soaked and pureed smooth into a soft porridge so no added sugar is needed; soaking and pureeing them, and removing every seed and stem, is the chef's safety step. Dates and raisins are classical.

Ancient text

Dates and raisins are valued as sweet, strengthening and nourishing.

Modern research

Dates and raisins provide iron and natural sweetness, letting a first porridge skip added sugar; iron-rich foods are recommended for infants.

A gentle, honest note — this is one nourishing food among many, not a complete meal on its own. Aayu Ahaar walks beside the doctor's care, never in its place.
