Walnut & fig stuffed paratha — a sweet omega-3 breakfast for the brain (2–5 years)
A soft paratha stuffed with fig and walnut — a naturally sweet breakfast pairing brain-building omega-3 with gentle iron.
Why am I making this?
Walnut (akshota) brings omega-3 for the brain and fig (anjeera) adds gentle iron and natural sweetness, chopped fine into a soft stuffed paratha children love (ruchi); chopping the walnut fine and sealing the paratha well are the chef's steps. Walnut, fig and wheat are classical.
Ancient text
Walnut and fig are valued as strengthening and nourishing.

Modern research

A few honest notes
- Walnut chopped fine (choking; allergen — introduce alone).
- Wheat is a common allergen.
- Keep parathas soft.
- Modest salt.
Storage & make-ahead
Filling keeps a day chilled; cook parathas fresh. Travels well for lunchboxes.
