Amla & greens thepla — a savoury vitamin-C breakfast from a prized rasayana (2–5 years)
Soft theplas kneaded with fresh amla and greens — a savoury breakfast built on one of the richest vitamin-C foods the old texts prized as a rasayana.
Why am I making this?
Amla (amalaki) is one of the richest natural vitamin-C foods and one the classical texts prized as a rasayana (a rejuvenating, strengthening food), grated into soft wheat theplas with greens for a savoury breakfast; grating the amla raw into the dough is the chef's step that protects its vitamin C from long cooking. Amla, wheat and curd are classical.
Ancient text
Amla is valued among the foremost strengthening, rejuvenating foods. Such nourishment supports ओजस् (ojas) — the vital essence the texts associate with vigour and resilience.

Modern research
Amla is exceptionally high in vitamin C supporting immunity, with greens adding folate and iron; vitamin-C-rich foods are recommended for children.

A gentle, honest note — this is one nourishing food among many, not a complete meal on its own. Aayu Ahaar walks beside the doctor's care, never in its place.
