Amla-jaggery candy bites — chewy little immunity sweets with no sugar and no guilt (2–5 years)

Soft, chewy amla-jaggery bites — turning India's richest vitamin-C fruit into a 'candy' a child actually begs for.

Why am I making this?

Amla (amalaki) is one of the richest vitamin-C fruits and a prized classical restorative, and cooking it gently with jaggery into chewy bites turns a sour superfruit into a treat a child asks for (ruchi) — immunity as candy. Jaggery adds a little iron. A guilt-free sweet with no refined sugar that does real work behind a treat's disguise.

Modern research

Amla is exceptionally rich in vitamin C supporting immunity and jaggery adds a little iron; vitamin-C-rich fruits are recommended for children, with added sugars limited.

A few honest notes

  • Keep bites small and soft (choking).
  • Brush teeth afterwards (it's sticky).
  • Jaggery is still a sugar — keep it modest.
