Baked carrot & beet crisps — rainbow chips that beat the packet and load up on vitamin A (2–5 years)

Thin, crackly carrot and beetroot crisps baked till sweet — the colourful, vitamin-A crunch that retires the packet of chips.

Why am I making this?

Carrot brings beta-carotene (vitamin A) and beetroot folate and colour, and baked thin into crisps they satisfy the crunch a child craves — without the deep-fry or additives of a packet. A wholesome swap that delivers immunity nutrients in a fun form (ruchi). Carrot and beetroot are later kitchen vegetables, placed within the satmya principle.

Ancient text

Well-prepared vegetables are valued as wholesome and nourishing.

The classical texts value well-prepared vegetables (Shaaka) as wholesome and nourishing; baked vegetable crisps follow that, with carrot and beetroot within the satmya principle. The exact verse is being confirmed by our review panel before publication.

Modern research

Carrot is rich in beta-carotene (vitamin A) and beetroot in folate, both supporting immunity, and baked vegetable snacks are a healthier swap for fried packet snacks recommended for children.
